Big Quiche Enterprises Branding and Website
Client: Big Quiche Enterprises
Big Quiche Enterprises, a small production company specializing in comedy, requested a complete branding for their company, including a website and several promotions.
What is the challenge that Big Quiche presented you with?
As a new company, Big Quiche had several goals in mind. The main objective was to create a showcase of the company’s work. They also needed a brand which presented them as a serious contender in the production market and which would help them in their quest for development capital. The site needed to be both a source of entertainment and a way to inform the public about the company’s news.
How did you go about meeting that challenge?
The work began by designing a new logo. The piece was designed to present a cinematic feel; the design of a movie reel with a piece cut out to play on the word “quiche” combined both the feel and the name seamlessly. Stationery and business cards were created with a similar but still original design, in keeping with the new brand.
Paul Kiesche Design created the site using original information architecture, design, illustration and programming while Big Quiche supplied the unique copy to infuse the site with clever comedy. The site includes countless interesting details and fun hidden features as well as being rich in animations, images, script and video. This combination of talents provides an excellent showcase for the diverse abilities of Big Quiche as a production company specializing in comedy. In order to reach a large audience, the site and animations were designed to fit any size of browser and any platform of computer.
What inspired you on the design of this project?
The comedy writing and video production of our client inspired us to push the creativity of the site. While adding fun elements like an animated mascot and Easter egg rollovers we balanced the fun elements with a strong, well-established look for the design. This helped to position the company as a leader in their industry.
How was the project received? What were the results?
The new website and branding design has drawn considerable attention to both Big Quiche and their productions. The site itself was awarded the silver at the Horizon Interactive Awards and was the winner of the American Design Awards, among 8 additional awards.
