Client: Pfizer & The Magic Johnson Foundation

Challenge: Pfizer and The Magic Johnson Foundation teamed up to increase awareness of Diabetes, Heart Disease, Cancer and AIDS within the African American community by offering free medical screenings. A campaign was created to help promote the free medical screenings.
Solution: To reach the masses, posters, banners and flyers were designed to help bring awareness of the campaign. The materials were displayed throughout the Washington DC area. Instead of continuing with the usual morbid themes of imminent mortality used in previous health warning campaigns, this campaign was fostered with a positive spin. The ability to live a healthy active live was encouraged with the incentive of possibly meeting Magic Johnson. The poster was printed 18"x24", 4-color, on gloss coated cover stock. Banners and flyers were also created in conjunction with the campaign, to display at the screening.
Result: The screening was very successful and the client expanded the campaign into other sports and other cities in the years to come. The poster was awarded the American Graphic Design Award from Graphic Design USA.
